Learning Objectives: • Interpret and evaluate current research on Black male educational progress in American P12 schools. • Deconstruct cultural deficit theories of Black learning. • Analyze how stereotype threat impacts Black male success. • Design culturally responsive learning environments by identifying, summarizing, and analyzing culturally relevant teaching practices. • Discuss strategies for improving literacy development in diverse academic settings. • Generate culturally sensitive classroom management and discipline strategies that demonstrate socially just classroom environments.
