CHE 2327 - Organic Chemistry ll |
This course is a continuation of Organic Chemistry I. This course provides an introduction to the study of aromatic compounds and their derivatives, their relation to each other, their chemical and physical properties, their nomenclature, preparation and reactions. Other families of compounds that are studied include aldehydes, ketones, amines, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, and bio-molecules. Application of spectroscopy to structure determination is also emphasized. Three lecture hours per week.
