CST 5316 - Foundations of Data Analytics

This course provides students with the technical, computational and foundation on knowledge-based decision making processes required in the field of data analytics. Students are introduced to analytics systems using contemporary tools and techniques. The course provides an overview of database management, probability and statistics, data science tools, and knowledge discovery for decision making. Processes are illustrated by examples of practical applications. A semester project is required involving data management, statistical analysis, use of data analytic software, report writing and a presentation.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Certificate program in Data Analytics
