ELE 4336 - Classroom Management, Instruction and the Preclinical Practicum

This course is designed to introduce pre-service teachers to effective classroom management practices. The primary focus is to help teachers understand foundational as well as contemporary classroom management models and theorists and use those models to develop their own classroom management model. In addition, classroom instructional methods including differentiated instruction, student learning objectives, lesson planning, and unit development will be covered. Students enrolled in this course must complete a semester-long preclinical practicum consisting of two full-days each week in a clinical setting under the supervision of a clinical educator and university supervisor. Candidates should consult with their program coordinator regarding specifics.

Pre-requisites: GPA of 2.7, 2.0 in required courses, and admission to Educator Preparation Program.
