NUR 3511 - Mental Health Nursing |
This course is designed to assist students in developing knowledge and skills
necessary for nursing care management of mental health needs of clients and their
families in structured health care settings. Focus is on the application of the nursing
process in establishing and maintaining nurse-client relationships. A planned clinical practicum in selected mental health care settings will provide the opportunity for students to exercise the roles of caregiver, teacher/counselor, and client advocate. Students will begin to assume the role of collaborator as it relates to the interdisciplinary mental health team approach.
Prerequisite: Admission to Upper Division.
