| PSY 3329 - Psychology of Personality |

This course is an upper level writing intensive course designed to provide students with an introduction to Personality Psychology. It is also designed to enhance students' professional development with respect to critical thinking, writing, and project management. This course is designed for students who work hard, take responsibility for their learning, have an intrinsic interest in human personality, and adopt academic excellence as a core value of their education. A central question the course addresses is "What do we know when we know a person?". Throughout the course, students will become acquainted with the art and science of understanding a person' personality traits, characteristic adaptations (e.g. motives, goals, defenses), and identity.
The course teaching methods vary based on instructor and may include any of the following: experiential learning, self- directed learning, collaborative learning, distance learning, project-based learning, and didactic learning. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply personality core concepts and theories, person-centered analyses, western and non-western cultural approaches, and varying personality assessments to conduct and write a personality psycho-biographical case study of themselves. This is a depth course in the psychology curriculum.
