This course provides an academic and experiential introduction to the field of outdoor recreation. The emphasis of the course is on the relationship between the natural environment and the people who experience it through outdoor recreation. Additional emphasis is placed on planning, organizing, and, and implementing recreation programs safely in an outdoor setting. Course content is reinforced through direct experiences such as hiking, camping and canoeing.
